見證

 

近日看到兩位天主教前後任教宗，「私下」面對極鉅考驗時，將自己交託給聖母瑪利亞，讓我印象深刻。 

2025年4月21日過世的教宗方濟各，在遺囑表示：希望塵世的最後旅程，能在古老聖母大殿(the papal Basilica of Saint Mary Major)的保祿小堂結束，因每次使徒之旅的前後，他都來此祈禱，將其意願託付給無玷聖母，感謝她溫柔及母性的照顧。 

無獨有偶，教宗良十四世10日下午，私下前往羅馬郊外的傑納扎諾善導之母朝聖地(The Shrine of the Mother of Good Counsel in Genazzano)，在他選擇度奉獻生活，以及當選為奧斯定會總會長後，都曾來此祈禱，重申「對善導之母的信賴之情」，稱聖母是「光明與智慧」的友伴。 

其實多數天主教教友，在面對生活困境時，很喜歡透過聖母瑪利亞的代禱，也因為如此，有些外教人常誤以為天主教「信奉」聖母瑪利亞，甚至……用很難聽的字眼嘲諷聖母，即便師出同門的新教(台灣翻譯成基督教)，也認為「直接向耶穌祈禱就好了」。 

以前，我常喜歡分享葡萄牙法蒂瑪(Fatima)六度顯現給三個小牧童的奇蹟，或是引用耶穌受難時的一段話，說明聖母單純是「永遠的母親」：
「女人，看，你的兒子！」，又對門徒說：「看，你的母親！」就從那時起，那門徒把她接到自己家裡。（若19：26-27） 

近來，則較少向人「解釋」，更好說不以自己的觀點來「說服」別人(除非對方有興趣聽)，因深信「天主尊重每個人的腳步」，我不能證明信仰的存在，只能從生活中「見證」——領受並分享聖母這位最有力的代禱者向天主所祈求的平安。
